Central America Travel Market (CATM) it’s the most important event of the year for the promotion of tourism in Central America. This year, El Salvador will be hosting the sixth edition, which will be from October 9th to October 11th at the International fairs and convention center in San Salvador.
CATM is the region’s most important travel showcase, because it prompts the business between the tourism sector and the rest of the world. The organization of this event is provided by the private sector of tourism in the region, through Federación de Cámaras de Turismo de Centroamérica (FEDECATUR) and the support of the ministries and chambers of tourism in Central America.
During the last edition held in Managua, Nicaragua, over 175 wholesalers from North America, Europe and Asia were present. Nearly 180 exhibitors and 50 world wide tourism’s journalists were present.
This fair will be a meeting point in which international promoters and Central Americans tourism entrepreneurs can join to promote the region in a positive way. Potential buyer will be able to see the new newest destinations in the region.
The Agencia de Promoción Turística de Centroamérica (CATA), based in Spain, and promoter of this event in Europe, declared the increase in the interest of European companies in this event and considered a success based on the growing number of tourist visiting the region.
